Activity:
-Brainstorm presentation topics in groups of 3-4

Homework:
-Come to class with 3-4 topics you could present on

spot -v
-Can you spot me while I do this bench press?
-When you have to deliver a speech, have a freind or coworker sit close and spot you.

slut -n
-Many people think the new Black Canary Barbie looks like a slut.

lazy eye -n
-My uncle has a lazy eye, because he over uses his good eye.

obsolete -adj
-As industrial farms move in traditional farms are becoming obsolete in Korea.
-Are men becoming obsolete?

brutal -adj
-Amnesty international produced a brutal ad protesting human rights abuses in China.

pallet -n
-All the boxes fell of the pallet.

swiss army knife
-I would take a Swiss Army Knife to the island because it is multifunctional.

preserve -v
-A Kimchee fridge is the best way to preserve Kimchee's unique flavor and keep it from spoiling.

prerequisite -n
-The prerequisites for the group presentation are:
---1. It must me a maximum of 12 minutes
---2. Everyone must speak

arouse -v
-When introducing your topic try to arouse your audiences interest with and interesting fact, question or appropriate media

credentials -n
-What kind of credentials do you need to work there?
-You need a masters degree and 4 years experience.

posh -adj
-W-Bar in the Walker Hill hotel in Seoul is very posh.
-It felt very posh, all the guests at the restaurant were dressed in tuxedos.

keener -adj
-a person who studies all the time and very hard
**Chris is such a keener, he even studies during dinner.

Expressions:
come out of the closet
-To openly admit and share the fact one is gay.
**Did you hear, Tom Cruise came out of the closet? I always suspected he was gay!

six feet under
-Dead and usually buried or disposed of
**Don't worry about him, he's six feet under.

on the sauce
-drunk or drinking
**I was on the sauce for 10 years before I got help.

chill out at home
-Stay home all weekend and relax
**I chilled out at home and watched some movies this weekend.

bar star
-a person who always hangs out at the bar/club, is well known.
**G is a total bar star, he knows all the clubs in Seoul.

dress the part
-dress for the role or position. For example, if you are giving a medical presentation, dress like a doctor or pharmacist.
**Dress the part for your speech this Wednesday.
